Javier graduated in 1984 from university in Mexico City with a degree focusing on history, archeology and anthropology. Javier's first guided tour was of Tulum on November 18th 1984. In 1989 after completing more studies, he received his license as a tour guide. Most agencies operate bus tours with a minimum 40 passengers with one guide. These tours better described as "get on a bus, see the ruins, take pictures and get back on the bus", did not allow time for everyone to learn and appreciate the mystical world of the Maya. Furthermore, it took away the personalized attention and excellence in service which Javier strongly believed in. AGI TOURS offers professional licensed tour guides certified by the Mexican Tourism Board and drivers holding special licenses issued by the Ministry of Transportation & Communication of Mexico.
